Life, My Life in Watercolor

If money were no object, what would you do?

Today I saw one question like this posted in one of our groups in Facebook. Several people pitched in their ideas and one can tell that people would do so many things in life if money were no issue. Here are just some of the things I have in mind that I would do if money were no issue:

If money were no object, I’d homeschool full time and bring my kids around the world!

I have experienced homeschooling my kids full time during the pandemic. It was a rollercoaster ride. Some days we were happy, some days we wished we could go out and hang out someplace else, outside of home. Everyone in the household loves the outdoors so getting stuck for almost two years at home because of COVID restrictions was such a torment. When things are back to normal and if money were no issue, I’d definitely bring my kids everywhere so they would understand the world better. Here’s a photo of us in Boracay Island taken early this year. Our happy faces are testament to how much we love being outdoors, especially, when we are on the beach! I dream of going on a cruise ship with my family and visiting different islands around the world. Wouldn’t that be super?

I’d build a dance studio for me and my friends.
Here’s something most people outside my circle don’t know about me – I love to dance. I wanted to be a ballet dancer growing up but my parents couldn’t afford to send me to a dance studio at that time. Instead my dad sent me to my uncle’s dojo to learn karate. It was fun and it was a good distraction from my initial dream of doing ballet. Then when I landed my first job, I enrolled in a dance school – but not to learn ballet. I was too old for it. I learned how to bellydance! Someday I would want to do some bellydancing sessions again with my friends who also share the same love for dancing. We’d do fusions of various dance moves for sure, coz why not?

I’d build a house large enough to accommodate my best friends so we could be geriatric together and we’d be there for each other. I don’t expect our kids would be willing to take care of us in our senior years.

I’d buy lands and hire tree experts to build forests for me that people would have access to for free.

I’d spend tons on projects that aim to protect our coastal areas and coral reefs.

I’d hire scientists and engineers to manufacture packaging materials that are biodegradable and won’t contribute to microplastics in our oceans.

I’d rehabilitate rivers and lakes in our country to make them clean and swimmable.

I’d build foster homes for orphans and abandoned animals. They can live together and take care of each other.

I’d buy a condo unit or a small house in my favorite cities and towns around the world so I would have a place to stay when I visit.

If only…

’til next time folks! 🙂

PS. If you don’t see me writing often, it’s because I just came back from a week-long fieldwork mapping volcanic rocks in Bicol. I am also currently busy working on my thesis proposal. 🙂 Despite the busyness though, I managed to paint just this morning, here it is:
