Alternative Shopping Experience in Quezon City, Metro Manila

Have you noticed how crowded malls can be on weekends? I have!  I only go to Landmark/Trinoma for groceries; to buy a few things such as wrapping papers and craft supply; and for kids when they needed medicines, books and/or toys.  I try to limit going to the mall once a week and only when I really need to go. I don’t mind the crowd, hey, I’m a people person (now). What I do mind and feel impatient about are the long queues to the ladies room or bills payment center (I haven’t gone digital on this!) or cashier when paying for the stuff I bought; and the impossibility of getting proper customer service because there would be a line for that too.

So I came up with a list of alternative stores to shop in Quezon City that I had personally visited and now highly recommending:

Simple and Sassy Women’s Clothing Accessories – Maginhawa St. UP Village

This small shop offers so many things such as branded bags (saw a few Kipling and Coach bags); Bangkok tops, dresses and pants; belts, scarves, hats, sandals and fashion jewelries (some of them are handmade!).  My friend JC and I went shopping there for office uniforms and we got decent blazers, dresses and palazzo pants. It’s a small place so it can get cramped if there are many people shopping. I love their selection of apparels and they’re pretty cheap. I saw dresses that start at 450; tops at 200 and belts at 50.  The store owner told us that they normally get new stocks every Thursday.

How to get there:

If you’re living in Quezon City, this shop is located along Maginhawa St., UP Village, just a tricycle ride away from Philcoa. The tricycle fare is only PhP 18.00.

Mercury Drugs

For medicines and groceries, Mercury Drugs is very accessible. They have branches around Quezon City; along Katipunan Avenue and Commonwealth Avenue (Tandang Sora and Philcoa) are the ones nearest to me.

National Bookstore – Katipunan, Quezon Avenue, Cubao

For books and craft supply, I normally go to National Bookstore. Like Mercury Drugs, they have branches all over Quezon City, my favorite one will always be in Cubao because it’s where I got some of the old and rare selections of books when I was in college.

Human Heart Nature – Commonwealth

I love Human Nature! In fact, I have been a dealer of their products for seven (7) years now! I sell them mostly online via Facebook, Shopee, and to friends.  But if you really want to see the products below is their address:

Head Office Address:

Last time I went there, the store is selling free brewed coffee. Not sure if they do that anymore. 🙂 Interested to be a dealer? Just message me here. 🙂
I’ll update this post again as soon as I discover new places.
