If you’re a commuter in the Philippines, actually, if you live in the Philippines, a portable fan that lasts all day is essential. Our beautiful country, with its stunning beaches and landscapes, also brings hot and humid weather most of the year. December to February offers some relief with cooler days, but the rest of the year is often a sweat-inducing challenge! Fans are a necessity, and if possible, having an air conditioner at home helps keep the heat at bay. For when you’re on the go, carrying a traditional fan (known locally as a pamaypay or abaniko) has always been a must. Recently, though, I’ve noticed more people bringing along portable electric fans—compact ones you can charge at home and take with you throughout the day.

Today, I’m sharing my thoughts on a brand of portable fans that’s been gaining popularity on social media: JisuLife.

The Gems:

I recently bought the JisuLife FA43 portable fan, the model with a 4000 mAh battery and innovative “2-patent vortex technology,” which includes an air turbine and air jet for powerful airflow across five adjustable speed settings. The salesperson at the mall kiosk explained that, at its maximum setting, it could run continuously for over seven hours, which was a major selling point for me. I also chose this design because its encased blades provide extra safety, reducing the risk of my youngest son accidentally touching them.

After testing it, I was impressed with the cool, strong airflow. The packaging shows various safety certifications, confirming that the fan’s parts passed safety testing. I went with the beige color, which I love because it matches my kitchen essentials but the model is also available in matcha green, black, and white. The set includes a USB-C charger and a wrist strap for added convenience.

Since I bought it, this JisuLife fan has been my reliable companion on outdoor trips and during commutes. I’ve even found it useful for drying my hair and watercolor paintings since my hair dryer lacks a cool setting and my heat gun produces too much warmth. In fact, in the IG reel below, you can see me using it to dry a wet watercolor piece. For its versatility and performance, I find this portable fan a great value for the money!

The Germs:

So far I’m loving this portable that my only complain is that the model I bought is heavier than most portable fans I’ve tried. I also have no idea how to clean the fan blades inside once they’ve accumulated dusts although my fan has been with me for more than a month now and it is still as clean as a whistle, as they say. I also don’t like that only selected models came with free bag (haha), would have been nice that the model I got came with one. Instead, I used a clean sock as its bag (whose pair I lost in my old washing machine, somehow, sheesh!).

My final verdict:

Do I recommend this brand? I’m happy with the model I bought so I’d say yes. You might also want to try the different models first before you buy. JisuLife portable fans come in different designs, I guess, to target different types of market. I saw one that can be strapped on a child’s stroller, nifty!

First photo is my fan inside an old sock as its case. The fan I purchased did not come with a bag as the more expensive models have so I just took a sock without a pair to avoid the fan from getting scratched in my bag. Second photo is how I sometimes use the fan when I’m cooking as it can get hot in my kitchen. 3rd photo is my most recent watercolor artwork along with my fan that I used for drying my work while the fourth photo shows the certfication logos suggesting the fan has gone through rigorous safety tests.

Where to buy:

JisuLife has kiosks at SM North Annex, Quezon City, SM Makati Cyberzone, SM Manila Cyberzone, and SM Mall of Asia Cyberzone. You can also purchase through their website. I’m not sure if the ones they are selling in Shopee or Lazada are legit so I suggest you do your due diligence before buying.

How about you? What brand of portable fan do you swear by?

Cheers,

Grass
