I successfully completed my Master’s degree in Geology, defending my thesis and fulfilling all required components for graduation. My thesis focused on the application of machine learning classifiers for the segmentation of rock images, reservoir characterization, and mineral identification. In addition, I developed the Petrology Lab’s Information Database and Dashboard for the Energy Development Corporation (EDC) using Labware’s Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). This database is now actively used by experts for geothermal well correlations and siting.
As a Teaching Associate at the National Institute of Geological Sciences (NIGS) at UP Diliman, I taught a range of courses, including Physical and Optical Mineralogy, Petrology, Basic Field Geology, and Machine Learning for Earth Science.
