Happy Mother’s Day, dear fellow mommies!
Today, I want to send a warm embrace to each of you who drop by this little space—especially to fellow homeschooling families and all the incredible moms balancing home, work, and everything in between.
A Tribute to Your Everyday Heroism
To the moms who teach lessons in pajamas, patch up scraped knees, and find joy in messy moments—thank you. To the career moms who bravely step out each day to provide for their families, even when it means being away from your little ones for a while—I see you. Whether you’re working from home, from an office, or somewhere in between, your love and dedication ripple through every corner of your children’s lives.
You are doing beautifully, even when it feels like you’re barely keeping it together. You are raising hearts, shaping minds, and building safe spaces—one ordinary, extraordinary day at a time.

Our Simple Joys: How I Spent Mother’s Day with My Boys
One of my goals this year is to lose weight and stay fit, so I recently joined the Run Club at work. We track everyone’s progress, which keeps me motivated. To maintain consistency, I’ve revived my weekend jogging and fitness walks—and today, in honor of Mother’s Day, I invited my boys to come along. Even with my busy schedule, I’m determined to carve out quality family time each weekend. If you’ve been following this blog, you know how much we love wandering among the trees and spotting birds together. Today, I even added a jog into our routine—although my trekking shoes weren’t quite up for the pace, and my foot reminded me of it afterward! Still, it was worth every step.
After our fitness activity, we indulged ourselves in a bowl of noodles, coffee, soda, and iced tea at the nearby grocery and bakery for refreshments. We then did a bit of grocery shopping to replenish pantry items. We went home afterwards to rest a bit. Then I asked my kids if they were up for a visit to the mall. I didn’t tell them my agenda because I wanted it to be a surprise. My eldest chose to stay, but my youngest jumped at the chance, which was perfect…because today’s surprise was custom-made for him: a piano!
A few months ago, while I was out of work, I sold hand-painted earrings and paintings to build Ian’s piano fund. Friends rallied around the project, especially once they heard it was for his piano. After I started my new job last month, I tucked away a portion of each paycheck toward that same goal. Today, all that saving—and everyone’s support—came together as we walked into the store and walked out with Ian’s very own piano. It was a dream realized, and his smile made every effort worth it. I will tell you more about his piano in my next blog post.

I treated him to lunch at Taco Bell—one of his absolute favorites—and took the chance to celebrate myself, too, with a new pair of office shoes and not one but two chic work bags. I usually stick to backpacks, but Aldo was running a special Mother’s Day “Buy One, Get One Free” promo, so I couldn’t resist grabbing both at a steal. Thanks for the deal, Aldo Philippines! And here’s a video of Ian when he found the one and the first piece he played after installing the piano at home. ❤
A Note of Encouragement
Motherhood doesn’t always come with quiet mornings or grand celebrations. Sometimes, it looks like sweat, noodle soup, and the hustle of everyday life. Yet, it is deeply rewarding—especially when we see our children light up at the simplest joys.
To all the moms reading this: you are appreciated. You are doing enough, and you are never alone. Please reward yourself today; you absolutely deserve it!
With love and gratitude,
Grass
